**This program will resume on Monday, July 13th**A perfect 50+ class that incorporates stretching, balance, agility, strength and cardio, along with fun music. This class utilizes various equipment, such as weights, exercise balls, drumming sticks, and much more. A portion of the class is seated in chairs and the rest completed standing. No floor work.There is an $8.00 drop-in fee per class or you can purchase a 12 visit punch pass membership for $60.00. These travel teams participate in CVBA during the summer of 2020. All teams who participate in the travel program will have access to the Anchor for year round training. A player cannot turn the next age prior to May 1st. All current and new players are required to tryout in order to be considered for the roster. We will have a make up date in August if necessary. Please pre-register prior to your arrival on Sunday. **Tryouts for the 9U, 11U, and 13U are TBD once we receive confirmation from all of the coaches. Softball tryouts are also TBD**  We will accept walk up registrations.

Join us as we hunt for shooting stars, look at the man in the moon and much more! Our local astronomer Suzie Dills will be on hand with a telescope or two to show you what to look for. Stop by to take a quick peek or bring a blanket and snacks and stay for awhile. No registration required. Free.Location: Walker Road Park, by the pavilionSaturday May 2- 8:30-10p - Cancelled due to Covid-19 Friday June 26 - 9-10:30p - Canceled due to heavy cloud cover and potential rain. Friday July 24 - 9-10:30p - Viewing the Moon, Jupiter & Saturn. Wednesday August 12 - 9-11p - Annual Perseid Meteor Shower Party! Bring blankets, lawn chairs & snacks and watch for shooting stars. Also Viewing Jupiter, Saturn & Summer Constellations. Saturday September 26 - 7-8:30p - Viewing the Moon, Jupiter, Saturn & Mars. Monday December 21 - 5:30-7p - Come see the Great Conjunction of Jupiter & Saturn! This is the closest pairing of these two planets since 1623! We will also celebrate the Winter Solstice & view the Moon & Mars. What if it's cloudy? Unfortunately, clouds will prevent the program from taking place. If this is the case, we will have to cancel. But plan to attend the next one! The City of Avon Lake is pleased to announce the third season of a recreation fall baseball league for the Jr. Thurman division in the late Summer and Fall of 2020.  As with the Spring/Summer leagues, State of Ohio COVID-19 guidelines will remain in effect.  Baseball players going into 7th–9th grade for the 2020/2021 school year are eligible.Games will take place at Weiss Fi­eld in Avon Lake starting in mid- August and ending, weather permitting, by early October. Games will be played on Saturdays with rain outs attempted to be made up as double headers later in the season.   There will be 8 games and no post-season tournament.   Games like the Spring will have no new inning starting after 2 hours.  There is a 96 player limit for this league (8 teams of 12) and no complete teams are permitted to enter the league. All players will go into a draft pool and prior to drafting, an evaluation will be held on Sunday, August 2nd at a time that will be issued from 10am-2pm for a 1 hour time slot once registration closes.

Classes are offered at the Old Firehouse Community Center, 100 Avon Belden Rd. We are changing to a session format in place of tickets. Classes will start on July 1st. The City of Avon Lake is pleased to announce the third season of a recreation fall baseball league for the Jr. Thurman division in the late Summer and Fall of 2020.  As with the Spring/Summer leagues, State of Ohio COVID-19 guidelines will remain in effect.  Baseball players going into 7th–9th grade for the 2020/2021 school year are eligible.Games will take place at Weiss Fi­eld in Avon Lake starting in mid- August and ending, weather permitting, by early October. Games will be played on Saturdays with rain outs attempted to be made up as double headers later in the season.   There will be 8 games and no post-season tournament.   Games like the Spring will have no new inning starting after 2 hours.  There is a 96 player limit for this league (8 teams of 12) and no complete teams are permitted to enter the league. All players will go into a draft pool and prior to drafting, an evaluation will be held on Sunday, August 2nd at a time that will be issued from 10am-2pm for a 1 hour time slot once registration closes.

**This program will resume on Tuesday, August 4th**This gentle yoga is a restful, calming class that includes breathing, gentle flowing movements with passive and supported posses.  This class is appropriate for all levels including those with limited mobility or those that prefer a softer, gentler approach to yoga. Modifications for poses will be offered but students must be able to get down to the floor and up again unassistedThere is an $8.00 drop-in fee per class or you can purchase a 12 visit punch pass membership for $60.00. **due to Covid-19 this program is currently unavailable**Gus Huska has been teaching this program for many years and is excited to share his knowledge of the Korean martial art.  Designed for ages five and up, this affordable class is perfect for the entire family.  Whether you are a beginner or advanced you will appreciate the personal instruction in technique and discipline.  This program is the perfect way to stay physically fit.  All belt classifications are welcome!  Please call 440-930-4130 if you have any questions.Beginning in January 2020 this program will move from the Anchor Recreation Facility back to the Old Firehouse Community Center.  We will replace the eight week session format with an ongoing punch pass.  You may purchase a 12 punch/scan membership card for $60 which is good for one year.  You may also pay a drop in fee of $8.00 per class if you prefer.  The link below will take you to our membership registration if you wish to purchase a 12 scan membership card. Calling all creative people who enjoy good conversation while knitting, quilting, embroidering, crocheting, needlepoint, jewelry-making, etc!  Creative Needles meet on Fridays from 10:00am-12:00pm.  All are welcome!This program will resume on Friday, July 17th.  Tables will be set up in the south bay to provide ample social distancing.  Face coverings are recommended.

The City of Avon Lake is pleased to announce the third season of a recreation fall baseball league for the Jr. Thurman division in the late Summer and Fall of 2020.  As with the Spring/Summer leagues, State of Ohio COVID-19 guidelines will remain in effect.  Baseball players going into 7th–9th grade for the 2020/2021 school year are eligible.Games will take place at Weiss Fi­eld in Avon Lake starting in mid- August and ending, weather permitting, by early October. Games will be played on Saturdays with rain outs attempted to be made up as double headers later in the season.   There will be 8 games and no post-season tournament.   Games like the Spring will have no new inning starting after 2 hours.  There is a 96 player limit for this league (8 teams of 12) and no complete teams are permitted to enter the league. All players will go into a draft pool and prior to drafting, an evaluation will be held on Sunday, August 2nd at a time that will be issued from 10am-2pm for a 1 hour time slot once registration closes.
