Stability - Stability This class is designed to increase Mobility and Flexibility for all who are interested in increasing and maintaining daily functionality regardless of their range of motion. The program is especially helpful to those suffering the effects of Parkinson's Disease and Multiple Sclerosis. Boo By The Woods - FRIDAY Basement of Terror 6:00-6:45pm BOO BY THE WOODS FESTIVALFriday, October 6 & Saturday, October 7, 2023 At the Avon Lake Public Library and Lorain County Metroparks Kopf Reservation.Presented by the City of Avon Lake, Avon Lake Recreation Department, and the Avon Lake Public Library.Exclusive Title Sponsor: Kopf Builders. Bigger and better than ever! Now our 10th year of bringing Spooktacular family fun to Avon Lake. On Friday evening we will be bringing high-intensity scares to our indoor mazes for those who dare to enter the Library’s Basement of Terror! There might also be a chance to bump into some eerie characters throughout the evening. On Saturday we will have our "PG" rated Trail of Haunted Tales, including the option of walking the trail earlier for a non-scary experience during daylight. As in year’s past, this remains a family friendly event; however, you will have the opportunity to enter the new and much scarier Basement of Terror. Other activities will include an inflatable obstacle course, pumpkin decorating, tarot card reading, face-painting, and more! Plus, we have added more characters and decorations, the Ghostbusters, Superheroes for Kids of Ohio and creatures of the night from Back to the Wilds. Food and beverages will be available for purchase from participating food trucks. Friday, October 6 BASEMENT OF TERROR Visit the Basement of Terror on Friday, October 6 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Avon Lake Public Library. Friday tickets must be purchased online prior to attending. The Basement of Terror will provide those daring enough to enter the Library on a Friday night and walk through the indoor mazes with high intensity scares and an extreme fear factor with lots of jump scares. The Basement of Terror is geared towards older children, teens, and adults. Basement of Terror Ticket Sales: $5 per ticket/per person Tickets for Friday evening are limited and will only be sold as supplies last. Tickets will be sold in one-hour increments; i.e. 6:00 pm, 7:00 pm, etc. You must enter the line within the 45 minute time slot printed on your ticket. If you miss your time slot, you will not be permitted to enter so please plan to arrive early. Friday tickets are only valid on Friday. All participants must have a ticket to enter. It will span the continental United States, approximately from Texas to New York. The path of maximum totality will cut across Ohio, especially Lorain County. The physics and geometry of an eclipse will be explained, including the relative motion of the Moon, Earth, and Sun. Also covered will be the continued importance of eclipses to the scientific community, as well as the importance of this particular eclipse. Safe watching sources of information will be provided. Just think, that from 100 CE to the total solar eclipse on April 8, 2024, there have only been 7 total solar eclipses visible from here. Another exciting fact is that the central line of the eclipse will pass through Avon Lake. During his presentation Dr. Bondurant will share the story of solar eclipses from why we have them, what have we learned from them and how to safely observe the eclipse. Stability - Stability This class is designed to increase Mobility and Flexibility for all who are interested in increasing and maintaining daily functionality regardless of their range of motion. The program is especially helpful to those suffering the effects of Parkinson's Disease and Multiple Sclerosis.
