Avon Lake Fine Arts Camp
The Avon Lake Parks & Recreation Department is excited to present the second summer of our Avon Lake Fine Arts Camp.  Led and created by the talented Susan Vance-Koch.
 
Our camps will be an all-encompassing arts experience where children will be encouraged to explore their creative talents in music, dance, theater and the visual arts.  At the end of the three-week session, students will perform on stage at the Avon Lake High School Performing Arts Center.

 
Session One:  “All Aboard the S.S. ALFA”
Avon Lake Fine Arts camp invites you to participate in our sea cruise experience!  Whether it’s “on board” activities like “Ship Shape Aerobics” or live music performances on the islands, our theater kids will be participating in any or all of all of the following; singing, dancing, acting and creating the visual arts for our show!
 
6/13 – 7/1 Monday through Friday
Ages 6-12 (as of 6/15/22)

Rehearsal & Performance Location: (6/29, 6/30 & 7/1 Only):  Avon Lake Performing Arts Center - 175 Avon Belden Road, Avon Lake, OH

Monday – Friday
Morning Session Visual Arts & Acting 9am – 12pm
Afternoon Session Singing & Dancing 1pm - 4pm
Full Day 9am – 4pm (with 12pm – 1pm stay and play w/ you-pack lunch)
Rehearsal/Performance days:  All classes meet 1pm – 4pm Wednesday 6/29, Thursday 6/30 & Friday 7/1: Avon Lake Performing Arts Center - 175 Avon Belden Road, Avon Lake, OH
Final Performance: Friday, July 1st at 3pm


Session Two:  “A Star is Born” 
Avon Lake Fine Arts camp invites you to create an original show about the trials and triumphs of making it on Broadway!  From auditions to performances, from directors to dancers, our theater kids will be participating in any or all of all of the following; singing, dancing, acting and creating the visual arts needed to create our Broadway Spectacular!
 
7/11 – 7/29 Monday through Friday
Ages 6-12 (as of 6/15/22)

Registration opens Monday, March 14, 2022 at 9am. Space is limited so reserve your spot today! Registration deadline is two-weeks prior to the start of each session.  A non-refundable deposit of $75 per session due at time of registration. Questions? Call (440) 930-4130.

FAQs: 
What to bring?
- camp t-shirt (not required daily)
- mask protocol to be updated prior to program starting
- non-perishable healthy snack, lunch if staying all day and drink (no soda/candy permitted) items should be labeled with your child’s name
- One t-shirt per student (not per session) provided.  T-shirts do not need to be worn every day.  Please wear on rehearsal and performance day.
 
Can I sign up for just one week?
Unfortunately, our three week camp is a consecutive program leading up to a final performance, so you must attend each week. 
 
What happens if my child gets sick or injured in the program?
Children that get sick or injured during the program are isolated and contact is made with the parent or guardian.  We may ask that your child leave for the day to avoid spreading of communicable diseases.  In the event of a serious illness or injury emergency services will be called to respond.  It is imperative that we have the parents contact information to keep you informed of the situation regarding your child.
 
Do I have to pay at the time of registration?
A non-refundable deposit of $75 per student per session is required at registration.  The final balance of the fee is due 2 weeks prior to the first day of the session.  If payment is not received, your child will not be allowed to attend.
 
What is the drop-off/pick-up process?
Parents and/or caretakers are expected to come inside the building to sign in/out children.  Please drop your child off a maximum of fifteen minutes before the class and pick-up your child at the designated end time.  Only individuals listed at the time of registration will be permitted to pick up the child.  A photo ID must be presented upon pick-up each day. If additional people (not listed during registration) are required to pick up the child this must be put in writing ASAP and given to the program coordinator or lead teacher.
