Can I sign up for just one week?
Unfortunately, our three week camp is a consecutive program leading up to a final performance, so you must attend each week.  We do have a four day program available 7/6 – 7/9.

What pre-cautions will you be taking in regards to Covid-19?
The Avon Lake Parks and Recreation Department follows the guidelines provided by the Lorain County Board of Health.  Currently children and staff will be required to wear masks while attending fine arts camp except for during performances.  Class sizes are limited to 50 and social distancing will be in place.  Whenever possible, portions of the class will be held outdoors.  Portions of the day that are indoors are held in a community center where there is room to social distance. Temperatures will be taken as children arrive each day.  Areas will be sanitized after each session.  Please note that the guidelines are ever-changing, and we receive updates from the board of health on a daily basis and keep you informed of changes.

What happens if my child gets sick or injured in the program?
Children that get sick or injured during the program are isolated and contact is made with the parent or guardian.  We may ask that your child leave for the day to avoid spreading of communicable diseases.  In the event of a serious illness or injury emergency services will be called to respond.  It is imperative that we have the parents contact information to keep you informed of the situation regarding your child.

Do I have to pay at the time of registration?
A deposit of $25 per student per session is required at registration.  The final balance of the fee is due 2 weeks prior to the first day of the session.

What is the drop-off/pick-up process?
Due to social distancing, we are asking parents to remain in their vehicles during drop off and pick up.  Drop off will be at the south side of the Old Firehouse Community Center.  An instructor will greet you and take your child’s temperature while still in your vehicle.  If the temperature is below 100 degrees, our teacher’s aide will escort your child into the building to begin their day.  A hang-tag will be distributed at drop off the first day of class with your assigned number.  One additional hang-tag may be requested for an additional authorized caretaker.  Parents and/or caretakers are expected to drop each child off a maximum of fifteen minutes before the class and they are expected to pick-up their child at the designated end time.  Child pick up will be at the same location.  Only individuals listed at the time of registration will be permitted to pick up the child.  A photo ID must be presented upon pick-up each day. If additional people (not listed during registration) are required to pick up the child this must be put in writing ASAP and given to the program coordinator or lead teacher.
