Cancellation & Refund Policy

Cancellation Policy:

Participants are not officially registered for a program until registration fees are paid in full.
The City of Avon Lake Recreation Department reserves the right to cancel programs due to insufficient registration. In such cases, a full refund will be issued to registrants.

Refund Policy:

Full Refunds: If a program is canceled due to insufficient registration, a full refund will be provided to registrants.
Early Cancellation (4+ weeks before program start): Registrants who cancel their registration at least four weeks before the start of a class or program will receive a 100% refund, minus any non-refundable deposits.
Late Cancellation (less than 4 weeks before program start): Registrants who cancel within four weeks of the program start date will receive a 50% refund, minus any non-refundable deposits.
Program-Specific Flexibility: Certain programs may have different refund deadlines due to advanced financial commitments. For exceptions, please contact your Program Manager or the Recreation Director.
No Refunds After Program Start: Refunds will not be granted once a program has started, unless there is written documentation of extenuating circumstances.
Refund Processing: Approved refunds will be processed within 2-4 weeks from the written request and will be issued using the original payment method. Registrants may also choose a class or program credit instead of a refund. Credits are valid for one year and can be used for other City of Avon Lake Parks and Recreation programs, facility rentals, or pool passes.
