Dark Skies, Bright Kids 2026 - Star Lab Session 1 (6:00-6:30PM)
Join us for an unforgettable night of astronomical exploration that the whole family will love! Kids will embark on an exciting journey of discovery and imagination as they explore the planets. From the fiery surface of Venus to the icy rings of Saturn, children will learn about the unique features of each planet, sparking their curiosity and sense of wonder about the universe.Engaging activities, such as crafting and interactive planetarium shows, will help them visualize and connect with the vastness of space. Through this experience, children will not only grasp important scientific concepts but also develop a lifelong passion for astronomy, inspiring dreams of future adventures among the stars.In February 2026, you’ll have the chance to observe some amazing visible planets, including Mars, Venus, and Jupiter—perfect for stargazing and learning more about our cosmic neighbors!Local astronomical societies will showcase a variety of telescopes, laser pointers, experiments from the International Space Station, and even an inflatable planetarium. Plus, enjoy space-themed crafts! "Dark Skies, Bright Kids" will take place rain or shine!Date: Friday, February 20, 2026 Time: 6:00 PM - 9:00 PMStarLab Shows: $5.00 per person (pre-register) (Please arrive early or stay late within the 6 PM - 9PM window to explore all our stations!)

Cleveland has played a vital role in America’s space program through its deep and lasting contributions to NASA. The city also proudly claims a connection to astronaut John Glenn, the first American to orbit the Earth. Open to all in the gym.Location: The Anchor Recreation Facility 33483 Lake Road, Avon Lake, OH 44012Who: Fun for all ages!The StarLab, our inflatable planetarium, has limited capacity, and pre-registration is required to attend. A registered adult must accompany any young children visiting the StarLab to ensure everyone has a great time. Be sure to register for your children and at least one adult per group.
