Join the worldwide celebration of music on June 21!
Make Music is a free celebration of music around the world on June 21st. Launched in 1982 in France as the Fête de la Musique, it is now held on the same day in more than 1,000 cities in 120 countries.
Completely different from a typical music festival, Make Music is open to anyone who wants to take part. Every kind of musician — young and old, amateur and professional, of every musical persuasion — pours onto streets, parks, and porches to share their music with friends, neighbors, and strangers. All of it is free and open to the public.
Make Music Avon Lake is a partnership between Music on a Mission and the City of Avon Lake, & gives community members of all ages, creeds, and musical persuasions the chance to experience the joy of making music together, while serving the community. Join the activities from 4:00pm -10:00pm at Avon Lake High School and Veterans Memorial Park.
Want to play? There’s always room in the band.
We invite musicians, instrumentalists of all kinds to collaborate on making June 21 a musical masterpiece. Singers, church choirs, jazz combos, rock bands, glee clubs, marching bands, mariachis, and every other kind of musician, of any age group or skill level, are all welcome.
Students are invited to bring your instrument – or yourself – and join in!
This is a special & unique community event that benefits our city.
