Location: Erieview Elementary School (32630 Electric Blvd) will be our base location, however, we will spend time at many satellite locations including the Ellen Trivanovich Aquatic Center, Avon Lake Public Library, and Bleser Park. Field trips will take place most often on Tuesdays and Fridays. Camp transportation will be on foot with camp staff supervision and with Avon Lake school buses. Erieview Elementary School is the drop off and pick up location.

Late Policy:
Late drop off, after 9:15AM, is strongly discouraged due to our schedule. Additionally, tardiness impacts the flow of camp and any can upset other campers. Campers that are perpetually late may not be allowed back to camp. Once camp has left Erieview for the day, campers will not be allowed to join camp.
The Avon Lake Recreation Department’s late pick-up fees are as follows:
A $5 late pick-up charge, plus $1 for each additional minute late will apply after 4:00PM (5:30PM for those who select Stay & Play). For example, if a parent arrives at 4:01PM, a $6 late fee will be applied. Fees must be paid prior to the start of the next camp day for your child to return to camp.

A no-exceptions policy allows us to apply the late policy to everyone consistently and fairly. We do not want any parent/guardian to perceive that others are receiving special treatment, nor to put instructors in the position of determining what constitutes a “reasonable” excuse for lateness, so we must apply the fee across the board.

Sibling Discount: $10 sibling discount available when purchased in the same transaction (applies to each additional sibling registered in the same session)

Early Bird Registration, March 8 through April 30.
$175 resident/$200 non-resident per week

May 1 through May 31, regular rate
$200 resident/$225 non-resident per week.

Do the above fees include the cost of field trips?
Yes, they do! Should your child not attend a field trip for any reason, we cannot issue you a refund. Final camper counts are sent out to the organizations we visit well in advance. Additionally, if you opt out of a field trip you will not be permitted to attend camp that day as all staff attend every field trip.

What pre-cautions will you be taking in regards to Covid-19?
The Avon Lake Parks and Recreation Department follows the guidelines provided by the Lorain County Board of Health.  Currently children and staff will be required to wear masks while attending Summer Camp.  Class sizes are limited to 50 and social distancing will be in place.  The portions of class that are indoor are held in a gymnasium where we have plenty of room to social distance.  Temperatures will be taken as children arrive each day.  Areas will be sanitized after each session.  Please note that the guidelines are ever-changing and we receive updates from the board of health on a daily basis.

What is the drop-off/pick-up process?
Due to social distancing, we are asking parents to remain in their vehicles during drop off and pick up.  Drop off and pick up will be at the front of Erieview in their circle drive at the main entrance.  An instructor will greet you and take your child’s temperature while still in your vehicle.  If the temperate is below 100 degrees, our teacher’s aide will escort your child into the school to begin their day.  A hang-tag will be distributed at drop off the first day of class with your assigned number.  Additional hang-tags may be requested for an additional authorized caretaker.  Parents and/or caretakers are expected to drop each child off a maximum of fifteen minutes before the class and they are expected to pick-up their child at the designated end time.  Only individuals listed at the time of registration will be permitted to pick up the child.  A photo ID must be presented upon pick-up each day. If additional people (not listed during registration) are required to pick up the child this must be put in writing ASAP and given to the program coordinator or lead teacher.

Registration opens March 8, 2021. Space is limited so reserve your spot today! Deposit of $25 per week due at time of registration.  Final payment for all camps due by Monday, May 31st at 11:59pm. Questions? Call (440) 930-4130. All forms found within the Day Camp Packet MUST be completed with registration.
